Ardex Introduction to Substrate & Subfloor Inspection Class
Ardex Americas of Aliquippa, Pa., will host an Academy of Textiles and Flooring Introduction to Substrate and Subfloor Inspection class on June 6-7, taught by Bruce Newbrough. The two-day course, approved by the Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration (IICRC), will be available at a discounted cost of $299, plus the $65 IICRC certification fee. It will be held after Ardex’s free three-day seminar on System One and Moisture Control, June 3-5.

NWFA Summer Workshops
Students can come for the full three days of education or register for individual workshops.June 20: Factory Finish Repair & Recoat—This one day workshop of Factory Finish repair and recoat will provide training in finishing techniques like the repair and recoat of existing floors, board replacement and hand scraping. June 21: Intermediate Sand & Finish—This one day Intermediate Sand & Finish workshop is designed to Improve your sanding and finishing skills with hands-on sanding and finishing of custom floors. June 22: Field Equipment Repair—A one-day workshop for industry professionals regarding the care and maintenance of field equipment. Learn the basics of diagnostics, preventative maintenance, and on-site repair, especially when your machine quits on the job.

2013 Wood Flooring Technology Basic Installation
The NWFA has teamed up with Chattahoochee Technical College in a pilot program to train the next generation of wood flooring professionals.
Seasoned industry professionals, including Wayne Lee, Rob Zehner, Mike Bailey, Jeff Pope, Reed Maddray, and Jared Mohler, will teach the basics of wood flooring.
Participate by attending the training itself (or sending a member or two of your crew) or by coming on the final day to network with the students and share your experiences. See what the future of the industry holds.

Bona 4-Day Sand & Finish School
The Bona U.S. training team offers 4-day sanding and finishing schools for professional hardwood flooring contractors, inspectors, floor covering dealers and distributor personnel. These schools provide a chance to learn and participate in hands-on practice usingBona's complete line of abrasives, sanding equipment, stains, floor care products, tools and techniques.

Reclaimed Wood/Hand Scraped offers the wood flooring professional a better understanding of reclaimed wood. The skill of hand scraping will be shared by well known wood flooring professionals the second part of the day. Craftsmanship: Advanced to Expert gives you a eye opening experience to accomplish the "high end" demands, such as building custom jigs, cutting taper boards, bending wood, free-hand routing, marquetry, inlays and job costing.
NWFA/MFMA Wood Flooring Basics
The four-day Wood Flooring Basic training provides a comprehensive entry-level overview of installation, sand & finish. Woods covered include engineered, solid, parquet, prefinished and unfinished. Topics include water and wood interactions, wood properties and job site preparation. Demonstrations include safety, center lay out, racking, nail guns and sanding & finish equipment.

Basic Coatings Hardwood Maintenance School
A two (2) day opportunity to learn how to clean, maintain and refinish wood flooring.
Class is approved for two (2) IICRC Continuing Education Credits.

Jigs and Medallions
We are co-hosting the Jigs and Medallions school for the NWFA this year in Richmond, VA. It will cover laminated medallions, jigs for making medallions on table saws and miter saws, and it will also cover stairs over existing stair systems. David Jackson, ETMoore
